I am here by God’s appointment
He brought me here. It is by His will I am in this difficult place; in that I will rest.

My soul waiteth for the Lord…for with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption. Psalm 130:6-7

I am in His care
He will keep me in His love and give me all that I need in this trial to behave as His child.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

I am under His training
He will make the testing a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends for me to learn, and working in me the grace He intends to give.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him. James 1:12

I am here for His purpose
In His time He will bring me through. He will not abandon me.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Haven’t you ever wondered if Jesus is who he said he was?

3. Jesus’ resurrection has been more carefully examined than any other historical event. Many skeptical scholars became believers when they studied this historical record. Hundreds of people saw Jesus after his resurrection.

4. Everything in the character of Jesus suggests that he was the most ethical person who ever lived. This is not the type of man who would lie about himself.

5. Millions upon millions of level-headed, intelligent people in every part of the world testify to having a personal, life-changing encounter with the living Jesus.

These are the facts. But the most important fact is that everyone must decide whether Jesus is who he said he was. His claims are so great that either you believe him or you dismiss him as a raving lunatic.

Two billion people have taken an honest and critical look at the facts and concluded that Jesus is indeed who he said he was.

• What if it’s true that Jesus is who he said he was?

BEGIN THE DAY WITH GOD, START IN THE MORNING.

I met God in the morning,
When my day was at its best
And His presence came like sunrise
Like a glory in my breast.

All day long the Presence lingered,
All day long He stayed with me.
And we sailed with perfect calmness
O’er a very troubled sea.

Other ships were blown and battered
Other ships were sore distressed.
But the winds that seemed to drive them
Brought to us a peace and rest.

Then I thought of other mornings
With a keen remorse of mind,
When I, too, had loosed the moorings
With the Presence left behind.

So I think I know the secret
Learned from many a troubled way
You must seek God in the morning
If you want Him through the day.


That morning hour can be the best part of the day! Jesus used it for prayer.
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Mark 1:35

One would think that He did not need prayer. But here is the record. Long before dawn he withdrew to be alone with His Father in prayer.
How great then is our need of prayer. Martin Luther, during his tremendous schedule of preaching, writing, and contending for the truth, said, “I cannot get on without three hours of prayer every day.”

A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO LIVE ALONE

I live alone, dear Lord,
Stay by my side.
In all my daily needs,
Be Thou my guide.

Grant me good health.

Life is hard, even for one who follows Jesus.
Life is hard because we live and work in a fallen and twisted world. Every day we are confronted with a struggle against sin and the effects of sin in our lives.
God has promised strength to cope with these demands. But we have to turn to God to ask for such strength. As he provided each day anew for the Israelites in the wilderness, so does he provide for our needs-one day at a time, one thing at a time.
We cannot find this strength by filling up our spiritual tanks on Sunday and trying to make it to next Sunday. God's strength is given as we go along, with each task. And so we are left to live in continuous dependence on God-just where he wants us.
Morning prayers are not a place to visit and leave. That is where we are to live. And with practice, we will find that we are able to carry on ordinary tasks without leaving the presence of God. In God's presence, the ordinary things like child care and working for daily bread become holy.
Satan and the world we live in have a different agenda. They would have us squeeze God's place in our life down to the smallest possible piece-an hour on Sunday perhaps, or an occasional brief prayer. Satan's goal is to persuade us to get God our of government, schools, all public life, and out of our days.
But God says to us: No, I want all of you; heart, soul, mind and strength. You belong to me. I have all my gifts for you. Come to me for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
If you want God's strength, move into his presence and stay there. And when you drift from his presence, do not despair. Just quietly move back into the loving arms of our Father. He will never leave you to cope with life alone.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Let the morning bring me work of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Cor. 10:31

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

DO SOMETHING FOR JESUS
Do something for Jesus, He did all for you,
Your joy is complete when His will you do;
So seeking to please Him through each new day
His presence shall gladden each step of your way.
