WHAT BETTER PLACE TO KEEP THIS CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
Hook up a Null CABLE RS232 from your receiver to computer. Take off the coaxial cable from the LNB (to be safe). Turn the STB off with the switch in the back. Turn back on. After it is booted, turn off with the remote to set Standby Mode (You will see the time or --:-- if there is no time set).
Start the flash loader and click on the FILE folder. Find the bin file you want and select it. Select the DOWNLOAD S/W radio button and COM PORT. Then select START. The receiver needs up to one minute to process the data from the computer. The receiver will count down twice then show “-End”. When done turn receiver OFF & ON from the back. You will need to reset it to FACTORY DEFAULT instructions below.
All settings are configured using the CaptiveWorks remote control. There may be slight variations in your Menus from what I have documented (depends on your loader version), but this should get you watching TV. My CW600s/p manual didn’t even come close to describing the below.
Press the Menu button to bring up the Menu. The arrow keys move you around. The OK button selects your setting. The Exit button returns you to the previous Menu.
1. Reset to Factory Default Settings:
MENU -> INSTALLATION -> FACTORY DEFAULT -> ALL -> NO -> YES -> OK
Note: When you do a factory default with “ALL”, all channels and Satellite settings are erased.
2. Set System Values:
MENU -> SYSTEM SETTING -> SYSTEM -> OK
Set the values to:

Close Caption OFF
Channel NO SID
TV System NTSC
TV Screen Format 4:3
Recall History OFF
Auto TP ON

3. Set OSD:
MENU -> SYSTEM SETTING -> OSD -> OK
Set the values to:
Background B-1
OSD Transparency 8
Display Icon YES
Auto Exit Channel List YES
EPG Style Old
Hor Offset +00
Ver Offset +00
Time Out 3 Sec
Channel List CH-24
Time Display Format 12
Auto Roll ON


4. Set City Locals:
MENU ->ACCESSORIES -> CONFIG CITY -> OK
Select the State and press OK. Next select the closest City.
5. Set Antennas:
MENU -> INSTALLATION -> ANTENNA SETTING -> OK
Press the side arrow (volume right) and scroll to ECHOSTAR 7 (119W) and select. Next, configure the settings to below table values. You can scan for channels for this satellite now, or wait and scan both at the same time. (See next section.)
To scan for channels now, while still in your Satellite Settings click the red AUTO button on the remote to scan that Satellite. Say NO to only FTA channels wanted. The PROGRESS bar will move down and the screen will return to the Satellite Settings menu when done.
Repeat for ECHOSTAR 6,8 (110W).

Note: Set LNB Type to your LNB. OCS-DP is the standard DN LNB.
6. Scan Channels on Multiple Satellites:
To scan on multiple satellites go to:
MENU -> EASY TUNING -> OK
Set the values to:
Status On On Off Off
Satellite Name Echostar 7 EchoStar 6,8
DISEqC LNB1 LNB2
LNB Freq. 11250 11250
Note: Set Status to On for the satellites you wish to scan. Set Status to Off for remaining rows.
7. Enable the DN Key patch:
IMPORTANT, you must PATCH ENABLE to unscramble channels!
On remote click the F1 key then the number 0 key three times.
If you get a message PATCH DISABLE then do it again to get PATCH ENABLE to set the default key.
8. Restart the Receiver:
1. Turn off the Receiver using the remote.
2. Turn off the switch at the back of the Receiver.
3. Turn on the switch.
The Receiver will boot up and then you should be watching TV. If your stations are still scrambled, wait a few minutes for the keys to roll. If the stations remain scrambled, something is set wr.
9. To Get 7 Days of program guide information (EPG):
To get up to 7 days EPG go to any channel on the listed Transponders. EPG will populate for full 7 days in about 10 to 15 min. If you have set up more than one satellite connected it will take 15-30 min to populate for all satellites.


10. To determine what software version you have:
MENU ->ACCESSORIES -> ABOUT STB -> OK
