About West Side Homies: ..West Side Homies was not always known like it is now. They first started in primary school in the year 2002 where Evan Guerra aka ‘Eg Style’ started to form a group where two friends collaborated with him. These two friends where his own classmates Javier Guerra ‘Javi’, and +Otmar Luna+ ‘Chestermann’. Later .. they had graduated from Mount Carmel Primary School, they continued studying in Mopan technical High and they also continued with their dream where another friend joined, Miguel Gonzalez aka ‘Niggamann’. In the year 2003 they started recording on demo tapes with a mini component system. Later on, they started to come out in public making performances on stages in Benque Viejo, San Jose Succotz, and Melchor de Mencos creating a name and getting known as ‘The Homies’. In that same year they started to record their songs on CD with the help of a young man known as “LICHO” and later on with the help of Romi Rosas as the House Producer. Through time the name was changed from The Homies to “West Side Homies”. In the year 2004 they first released their first underground demo album, “BVDC Style”. Because of family affairs Otmar Luna had to leave the country and could not take part in the album “BVDC Style” The group was getting known by the public and many other new talents began to join, Maroly Tut ‘MJT’ was one of those talents who brought with him a new inspiring idea. The next step for these young rappers was to create a recording label and a recording studio. In the year 2005 ‘Back Yard Studios’ was founded with Maroly Tut as head producer. In this same year they released their second underground demo album “Musica Real”. In this same year west side Homies underwent a tragic loss of one of its founding members, who tragically passed away +Otmar Luna+ Aka “Chestermann”. This studio brought a recording progress to the West Side Homies and to many new young bloods with a dream of becoming a local artist. In spite of the sorrow for losing a friend, brother and group member West Side Homies continued to work even harder and started working on a new album introducing a new talent Erick Trujillo aka “ Sharky”. To this wave of talents came two new members of the West Side Homies, Andy Moh ‘Delincuente’ , and Mynor Kotch ‘Biscuit’. Until this present day West Side Homies is still living the dream of one day becoming an international music group, so that the world may hear and appreciate the Belizean Talent.
